SCHOOL TO PRISON PIPELINE
Eligibility: Submitting artists must be either a Chicago Public Schools (CPS) teacher (current or retired), Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) member or Foundation member.
Submission Criteria: Artwork to be sold may not exceed 18 in. x 36 in. and must be gallery wrapped on canvas. Artwork can be mixed media, acrylic, oil paint or any other appropriate medium for canvas. Submit up to 2 pieces of artwork to email@example.com for full consideration. Your art needs to be a 300 dpi (dots per inch) high-resolution jpg, tif, or eps file.
Deadline: Friday, September 1, 2017, by 5:00PM.
Website: Images of selected artwork will be used for marketing and displayed on our website.
Sales: Artists are to set their own selling prices with consideration that the exhibition is part of raising awareness and funding for public school teachers and students. CTF will retain a 30% commission of any artwork sold during exhibition timeframes. Artwork remains the property of the artist until sold. Artists will be paid no later than 10 days after the closing of the exhibition. Artwork to be donated, including sculptures, is tax deductible.
Agreement: By submitting their work to CTF’s exhibition artists agree to allow reproduction of their slides, digital files and/or photographs taken of their art for educational, publicity, and archival purposes.
Insurance: CTF, CTUF, CTU do not carry art insurance. Selected artists may self-insure works on exhibit at Children & Teachers Foundation Art Gallery
Shipping: All shipping and/or custom fees for unsold artwork are the responsibility of the artist.
